Welcome to the Wolf River Cam Trail Report page.
We have a couple of long time veterans of snowmobiling that will give us reports on conditions not only on the
river, but also of the trails locally and from wherever else they ride. Also, we will talk about the destinations
we ride to, events we attend and people we meet. Our 2 riders are listed below and will have individual pages set
up for the archives but will have their most current reports listed here.
Trail ride video will be posted when it becomes available.

Update!
I know I said I would update next week, but I learned the trails opened in Outagamie County this morning. I took the river to Northport then hopped on the trail from there. The trail from Northport was good to Sugarbush. Once I got to the Sugarbush trail it was freshly groomed and I was pleased to see that I was the third sled down the trail. A quick pull of the trigger on my snowmachine and I was through Sugarbush and up to Bear Creek. Then I headed towards Leeman. Once I entered the Leeman trails they were not groomed however, they were good until I got on the other side of the Embarrass river. As I traveled towards Leeman I encountered many plowed fields. There isn't much snow on these fields and they are very rough. A quick break at Andy's Place and back on the snowmachine to head home. I elected to take the river home because there are a lot of those similar plowed fields between Leeman and Shiocton. The river was great, with very little traffic.  I did not see any open water from Leeman to Shiocton. Again do not ride the river if you are not familliar with it. Go with someone who knows the river and do not ride it at night. (It also should be noted, the river is open by Peterson's landing which is south of Shiocton about 5 miles. There is a trail going around it, so that is what I typically follow).

Overall, I would rate the trails at a C+. There are alot of areas that are nice, but some areas that are poor. One thing that is consistant, is the ice base and the trails are very slippery on the corners. Be careful, ride while you can and I will see ya out there.
Ride safe,
Eugene

Update!
The river is smooth and fast. There is open water in a few areas, so I do not recommend riding the river unless you are familiar with it, or are with someone that is. Before the snow, trail studs and sharp blades were a necessity, but as of right now we have about 4" of snow and it is still snowing. Hopefully, they will open the trails in Outagamie county after the snow. Heading for the Mercer area this weekend. I will give a report and maybe pics when we return.

Ride safe,

We were on the the trails about 10.00 a.m. Saturday morning from Pence. Took trail 13 down to trail 12 and 13 was great. There is a stretch that runs along Island Lake Road that is fabulous. Once I got to that intesection, I could not believe there had only been 3 other sleds before me. I decided it was time for some flight, so I squeezed the throttle on the Rotary Rocket and I was away. Getting air on several areas of the trail brought a smile to my face, which is why it is one of my favorite trails in Wis.
From there I took Trail 12 over to Beaver's, then down to the Flambeau Flowage. These trails were in great shape. Across the Flowage I went to my favorite pitstop. The Flowage was very smooth and  I strongly recommend staying to the trail, as there are dead heads sticking through the ice and would surely do some nasty damage to one's sled, let alone one's body. If you do feel brave and want to explore, the Flowage is beautiful...just be careful.
I arrived at Camp 1 to see the owners Dale and Cathy, which in my opinion, you will not find two nicer people in the northwoods. They have a fare price on their gasoline, pizzas, and a wide assortment of beverages. If you do stop in, definitely ask Dale to tell you the joke of the day.
Next, I took trail 9 to Bear Chaser's. The beginning of 9 was ok due to logging, but it's not plowed down to the dirt, which is a positive.
From there I took the trail to Upson, then to the Carey Mine gas station, off of trail 77 and 13 (Spring Camp Road) to fuel up. Then it was back to the cabin for dinner. Sunday I took trail 77 to the grade out of Hurley. They were both groomed with very few sleds down them. I took the grade to trail 13b, then to trail 13. Continued on Trail 13 to trail 8, Trail 8 to Iron Belt. Met the groomer near Iron Belt and rode trail 77 back to the cabin and to my suprise trail 77 had been groomed again.
The trails were well taken care of, especially for a holiday weekend. I would rate the trails at an A-. If you are looking for a great destination, this is an awesome place to ride. The ride Sunday morning, I was the first sled down the trail.

This weekend I will be heading to the Crandon area.

Ride safe and I will see ya on the trails,

This past weekend I went back to Pence. Started out on Friday and the trails were great. I headed down towards the flowage. The temp was 45 degrees and what was amazing was they were firm. Once I got south of Island Lake Road, the trails started to get worse. The reason for this was the last storm gave Hurley one foot of snow and the Mercer area only got three inches. The trails were navigable and in some areas very good. I stopped in at Camp1 to see Dale and Cathy. While there  I met some guys from the southern part of the state. To my suprise one of them was driving a 1993 Polaris RXL in mint condition. Rode with these fellas towards Pence  and the farther north we got, the better the trails got. On Saturday headed out towards Saxon Harbor. The trails were not too bad as long as you did not have to go on the plowed roads. Traveling on the plowed roads was an iffy deal. The bottom line is if you could stay in the woods you had excellent trails as long as you were north of Island Lake road. The Flambeau Flowage was beautiful. The forcast is for the 40's all week. I think the fat lady has sung and the season is over barring any miracles.
The Wolf River is melting fast. I would not ride on the river from here on out. I would think by the weekend there will be open spots of water. Soon you will be able to watch the Walleyes heading up river for their yearly run.
Check back for updates throughout the year and I will see ya on the trails next year!
